CAPE TOWN – The 2007 edition of the annual Youth Weeks magazine published by SA Rugby and Coca-Cola is for the first time available online at www.sarugby.co.za.
The magazine, which was first published with great acclaim in 2005, provides a comprehensive overview of the 2007 Annual SARU Youth Weeks that were held in June and July. It includes reports, features and statistics on the Coca-Cola Under-18 and Under-13 Craven Weeks, the Coca-Cola Under-16 Grant Khomo Week as well as the SARU Under-18 Academy Week.
There are also features on sponsors Coca-Cola, about professional players who first made their mark at the Youth Weeks as well as on the history of the Weeks and the important role they play in the development of young rugby players in South Africa.
The printed edition of the magazine is now available and packaged with the Rugby World Cup edition of the official SARU publication, FIFTEEN, which is now on sale at selected news agencies and bookshops. SA Rugby has also decided to make the publication available via its website in order to increase its reach and circulation.
“We want to make sure the publication is accessible to as many people as possible via our official online platform,” said SARU CEO, Johan Prinsloo.
“There are so many highlights and interesting stories that emerge from the Youth Weeks each year and it is fantastic that we have been able to record these moments in a publication that acts as a definitive record of these annual events. By making it available online we hope that many more rugby fans will be exposed to youth rugby and gain an insight into what we are achieving at this level of the sport,” Prinsloo said.
The magazine is published on behalf of SA Rugby and Coca-Cola by BMT Sports Solutions and includes contributions from prominent SA rugby journalists.
