Die beste o.12 tot o.19 netbalspanne in Gauteng kom eerskomende naweek by Hoërskool Dr. EG Jansen vir die jaarlikse Gauteng Senior Sekondêre Netbal-kampioenskappe byeen.

Dit was ‘n bedrywige seisoen wat afgeskop het met die jaarlikse vriendskaplike toernooie gedurende die April skoolvakansie, waar sommige van die spanne reeds die geleentheid gehad het om mekaar op te weeg voor die amptelike liga-wedstryde vir die seisoen.

Affies Meisies se A-spanne het skoonskip gemaak in die o.14 tot o.19 ouderdomsgroepe in die Jubilee-liga, en dit is dus geen verrassing dat hul spanne in meeste afdelings die gunstelinge sal wees nie. As die top netbalskool in die land van 2016, het die 2017 seisoen weereens nie teleurgestel nie.

Hoërskool Waterkloof het die week sterk kapsie gemaak teen die manier waarop hulle verdere deelname aan die Virsekertrofee-kompetisie ontsê is nadat hulle geweier het om teen Hoërskool Garsfontein te speel.

Junior Springboks coach Chean Roux was disappointed as his team went down 24-22 in the World Rugby U20 Championship semi-final against England at the M.Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi, Georgia, but he said the players deserved credit for fighting until the end.
