CurrieCupIf the Currie Cup final of 2017 had a taste it would that of some Bloedwors.

Paarl Gimnasium or Bloedworse as they are also known as in Paarl will have with five former pupils the biggest representation in this year's Currie Cup final between the Sharks and Western Province in Durban on Saturday. The five players are  Kobus van Wyk, Louis Schreuder, Jacques Vermeulen (for the Sharks), Dewaldt Duvenage and JD Schickerling (for Western Province).

The rest of the schools who will be represented in the final is a mixed bag. Kearsney College, thanks to the three Du Preez-brothers (Jean-Luc, Daniel and Robert), have three former pupils in action in the final. Paul Roos Gimnasium of Stellenbosch also have three former matriculants in John-Hubert Meyer, Damian Willemse and Ramone Samuels who will play in the final.

Paarl Boys' High, St Andrew's College of Grahamstown, Affies and Diocesan College (Bishops) all have two former students who will play in the final.
